Kateri Native Ministry of Ottawa (KNM) is sharing 3 new volunteer opportunities with the Healing Lodge Committee.
These roles support our land-based, relational governance structure guided by the Anishinaabe Clan system. This governance system, as taught by Elder John Rice, is a way of working together rooted in balance, listening, and consensus, where each Clan carries gifts that support the whole.
About KNM: Kateri Native Ministry is an Indigenous-led faith-based ministry rooted in healing, reconciliation, and land-based spiritual practice in the Ottawa region.
About the Healing Lodge Committee (HL): The Healing Lodge Committee supports the development and care of land-based healing, gathering, and learning at Naategamaa (Fitzroy Harbour).
We are currently inviting expressions of interest for the following roles:
- Loon Clan Lead – Provides internal coordination, facilitation, and communication support to the committee through the gift of Honesty (Gwekwaadziwin).
- Marten Clan Lead – Supports land stewardship, infrastructure coordination, and works closely with the Land Manager, though the gift of Respect (Mnaadendiwin).
- Hoof Clan Lead – Supports community relationships, gatherings, coordination, and connection-building, through the gift of Love (Zaagidewin).
